Bosworth Hall.Location: Leicestershire. Details: Bosworth hall dates back from 1680, in 1758 it was the home of 'Sir Wolston Dixie' and his daughter 'Anne'. The haunting: Sir Wolston Dixies young daughter fell in love with a young man of whom her father disapproved, the young man; the son of the gardener, would sneak into Anne's room late at night. Her father found out and began to lay 'man-traps' throughout the grounds of the house late at night, the traps were intended to catch and ensnare her young lover, but one night Anne had arranged to meet the gardeners son in a hut in the grounds, and sneaking out late at night, she stepped into one of the man-traps. The trap tore her leg badly doing a terrible damage, and in agony she dragged herself back to her room in the house, her injury's were severe, and much blood was lost, she never saw her lover again, and died in her room. The ceiling below her bedroom is still stained with her lost blood, and it is said she still walks the grounds, looking for love, she is known as 'the grey lady'. |
