It is commonly believed that midnight is the 'witching hour' a time when supernatural beings such as witches and ghosts etc. are at their most powerful and able to cross over into our world.  Less well known however is the time of 03:00 A.M. 'The Demon hour.'

Many people report all manner of strange happenings occurring at the Demon's hour of 03:00 A.M.,  it is also a time that frequently correlates to episodes of 'sleep paralysis' by those that suffer from the condition.

* Butch DeFeo is said to have killed his family at around 3:15 with a shotgun in the supposedly true book/movie 'The Amityville Horror'.

The time of 03:00 A.M. is also noted as a time of special Demonic importance in another supposedly true story 'The Exorcism of Emily Rose'.

According to the Bible Jesus having been crucified died on the cross at 03:00 P.M. or 15:00 hours, so the time of 03:00 A.M. is thought to be the negative reflection or mockery of this, hence its becoming known as the Demonic hour.
